Rushes...

The submission period is over and the rushes have been uploaded to youtube.  Good luck to Kevin Macdonald for his film.  If any of my footage makes the cut then that would be great. If not, then I'm still pleased that I've got loads of footage to play with and develope into something else.  Two shots submitted were animated with the rest remaining as just live action.

Shoot day...

Well sunset is here.  It's been a very productive day of filming, it really paid off having a plan in the first place.  I am pleased with the footage which I'll have a little play around with before uploading.  I am well tired so it's goodnight from me...

HD ready...

Well it's the night before filming and thanks to fellow animator Zoran  Jankovic for lending me his HD camera.  I'm now ready to record in full HD action.  Let's see what tomorrow brings...

Location, Location, Location...

I have some specific shots in mind that I want to capture so it made sense to plan where I was going to film.  I also want to show a bit of city life in contrast to life at home.

This Septemeber...

Bumped into another film production called 'This September'. This is what I love about Oxford, so much goes on in terms of film, and is exactly how I got into the industry back when 'The Golden Compass' was being shot here in the exact same location. This time however I passed with only a fleeting glance as I continued on my own course.

Scouting about...

I spent this week scouting about for locations, putting my film experience to good use, also got stuck in the rain.  Hopefully won't rain much on the day when I film for real.

Life in a Day...

Welcome to the blog about an experimental film project called Life in a Day.  I am planning to participate in a global experiment which involves capturing life on film.  Along with millions of others taking part the footage will be uploaded on to youtube, which if selected will be cut into a feature film called Life in a Day.

The final feature is being directed by Kevin Macdonald and produced by Ridley Scott.  The brief is to film your life in a day (24th July 2010) and upload the clips to youtube.  The resulting film is like a time capsule or statement about life on earth in one whole day.  See here for more: www.youtube.com/lifeinaday.

I thought this was a really interesting idea and I wanted to challenge myself to make something creative in a short period of time.  I will combine animation with live action.  The plan is to capture the footage on the 24th July then post produce (insert animation) and upload finished shots by 31st July.

I then intend develope the work I create into my own short piece.
